I know it's just a 1. It's tiny, itty bitty, little 1. But I'm really excited about that little 1 in the swim column. Mostly because I FINALLY got in the pool. Starting is the hardest part and now that it's done I feel a lot better. Secondly, because it wasn't a miserable ordeal. I even kind of enjoyed it, I felt as comfortable in the water as a rubber ducky! But don't quote me on that. :) Got some good running in and saw some really nice sunrises along the way. Overall the mileage was lower this week without the bike rides, but I'm okay with that.

The Training:

Keeping up with kata and stuff. My Dad did some Naihanchi with me. That was quite a comedy. Excited to move on to Wansu when I get back to the dojo.

No sparring this week as I was out of the dojo. Will try to get an extra day in next week once I get back.

Didn't do as much sprint work this week as I could have with all the running, I will add more in this week. And I should get at least one good ride in later in the week.

Been eating really well. My Mum stocked up on good stuff and I've been getting rid of it :) So much fruit (best peaches EVER), egg whites, quinoa salads, leafy salads, rice, etc. Drinking lots of carrot juice and coconut water. And, yes, there has been chocolate. In moderation of course.

The Challenges:

It's been so nice to have some extra time this week. I could get up at my regular time, do my work out, shower and be "at work" (I can work from home) on time. I know it's going to be harder to get myself to the pool when I get home because the timing and convenience will change but I'll get it done. Being away from the backyard project has been a really nice break. The down time is refreshing. It has felt more balanced. I should designate some no-backyard-work days during the week.

Doing my workouts has been really easy this week. I'm guessing that's because I feel more rested. That concept deserves some consideration :) Basically, I think there has been some balance here that I don't create at home.

The Levels:
Motivation: Nice and steady
Next Event: July 27th - San Francisco 1/2 Marathon

An Fun Way to Describe Courage:

That cat must be a black belt.
